Kindergarten Weekly Newsletter 8/24

We had a great first week in Kindergarten! The children are getting used to our classroom routines and becoming more familiar with the classroom expectations.

We are learning how to make the Sign of the Cross. Please have your child practice this at home and Mass. Please make sure they are using their right hand.

This week we read The Kissing Hand, No David, Chrysanthemum and Howard B. Wigglebottom.

A few reminders:

We have assembly Monday mornings at 8:00 am. You may join us for prayer and any upcoming announcements. Tuesday through Friday our school day begins at 8:00 am. The first bell rings at 7:55 am, and they will line up to head in the classroom. Your child will be marked tardy after 8:00 am. Mass days (Wednesday) we start heading over to church at 7:50.

If you use the drive through pick up line, the children must enter the car from behind the passenger seat and be able to buckle themselves into their own car seat/booster seat. You may not get out of your car at any time. This keeps the line moving.  If your child is not able to buckle themselves in, please park on 13th Avenue and walk in to get them.

The gates between the school and church remain locked during school hours, except on Wednesday mornings for Mass. Please enter the school through the front office.

Looking Ahead:

If your child has not brought all of his/her school supplies in, please bring them in by Monday.

We will be starting P.E. on Monday, 8/27. P.E. Uniform order forms went home this week in the family envelopes. They are due back to the school office no later than Wednesday, August 29th. We will only do pre-orders, so be sure to order uniforms if you need them. If you need a new order form, you can find it here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/16CcTmZOd5FCsuU_erS-T4qtaZFeFOcbW3iH129YCc1Y/edit?usp=sharing. We will not be able to accommodate exchanges, so if you are concerned over sizing, there are samples in the office. Stop by before Wednesday to check the out! Please dress in uniform until P.E. uniforms arrive.

Kindergarten will attend Mass this Wednesday for the school Mass, at 8:00 AM. If you are able to join us, we encourage a few parents to sit with the class and help the students learn and maintain proper Mass etiquette every week. This is especially important the first couple of weeks.

Please join us for Back to School Night next Wednesday, 8/29, at 6:00 PM.

Dates and Reminders:

  • Wednesday, 8/29: Back to School Night 6:00 PM
  • Monday, 9/3: No School: Labor Day
